The Quick, Intense, Sprint Workout Routine

!±8± The Quick, Intense, Sprint Workout Routine

The joy of running is seldom achieved through long hours on a treadmill tucked away in the back of a gym. Outdoor wind sprinting is a much better alternative. A short, intense workout consisting almost entirely of wind sprints can improve endurance, strength, and muscle tone in less than half the time typically devoted to a run on the dreaded treadmill. Following is a detailed explanation of where to sprint, what you'll need, how to warm up, and how to get a full workout through sprinting.

Where to Sprint

The ideal location for sprinting is the beach. Sand provides enough give to reduce the stress on the knees caused from typical "pavement pounding." But sand also provides enough friction for a challenging run. For landlocked runners, a grassy field is a good option. If pavement is the only option, tarred asphalt is better than concrete, and for the stalwarts who insist on keeping sprinting at the local track, rubberized track is the best option. Most modern tracks are rubberized, however beach or grass are still preferable!

The Gear

This is the easy part. Sprinting requires no dumb bells, yoga mats, weight machines, or gym memberships. In other words the overhead is low. Believe it or not, the ideal sprint would be performed barefoot allowing for a wider range of the foot and leg muscles. However, running barefoot on city pavement may not be the safest idea. To remedy this, I suggest sprinting on grass or a beach if possible. And to protect your feet, try Vibram FiveFingers, a contour fitting soul which provides foot protection without movement restraint.

The Indigenous People Warm Up

This is a simple, full body warm up. Inspired by the primal man, this one stretch can be used to entirely stretch the body for sprint. Stand with legs slightly wider than shoulder width apart. Crouch into a squat position. Keep elbows and shoulders tucked inside the knees. Staying in the crouch position, bounce and rock the entire body, stretching the full range of leg muscles. Roughly one minute of this stretch should be enough to warm up for the sprints!

The Wind Sprint

The sprint requires roughly 150 meters of running space; if you're at the beach, make sure there aren't any children or sand castles in your way! Begin at a brisk jog. After about 10 strides, accelerate to a run. After 10 more strides of running, accelerate to a full speed sprint for a final 80-100 meters. Give yourself enough space at the end to slow back down to a jog, and then to a walk. Repeat the process six to eight times and the workout is finished! For a better illustrated example of sprinting and proper stretch technique, watch this wind sprint video.

The Schwinn Airdyne - 5 Reasons Why This is a Great Machine

!±8± The Schwinn Airdyne - 5 Reasons Why This is a Great Machine

For ten years I've been pedaling the same Schwinn Airdyne. This is one of my all time favorite machines. As a former automotive engineer, I'm picky about quality in machinery. You can pick more expensive exercise bikes and more sophisticated, but it's hard to beat the value of this bike. Here's why.

Reason 1 - It's heavy duty.

This machine is built like a tank. Many Airdynes have been used for years in health clubs and rehab clinics. Mine has seven thousand miles on it and the only thing that's been replaced is the batteries for the timer. Even the seat is heavy and durable.

Reason 2 - It's a proven design.

This design is a classic that's stood the test of time. There isn't much that can wear out. There is an updated model, The Schwinn Airdyne EVO. The Evo has a smaller resistance fan and is belt driven instead of chain drive. Those design changes make a quieter bike with less mechanical noise. The noise is a downside to the Airdyne. You won't be listening to soft music with this thing rocking. There's just too much commotion!

Reason 3 - It's simple.

There's little to break or go wrong. High tech devices are nice, but what happens when the computer in a high tech bike decides to quit after a few years? You'll probably be shocked at the replacement cost. Where this baby'll just keep on rolling. Simple, very little to break, get out of adjustment or wear out.

Reason 4 - It's cheap.

Cheap is a relative term, but the cost of an Airdyne is on the low side. Certainly a small fraction of the cost of the top models. Consider that the expected upkeep is low and this thing is a real value over a lifetime. Plus you can save gym fees and the need to buy all the other fad machines that come along, most of which don't work anyway.

Reason 5 - It's low maintenance.

There are bearings in the crank and the fan axle and pedals that can wear. That's about it other than the timer and speedometer. There just isn't much to fix. What's there is just like standard bicycle components. Ride it any time day or night and it'll run for years. If you can find a used one, grab it. Used models sell well because those who know realize that one of these bikes that's many years old is still as good as new.

I'm a fan of Schwinn Airdyne exercise bikes based on my long-term positive experiences with mine.

3. Ergonomics includes how well the machine accommodates users of different sizes. This includes belt size, and foot rail and hand grip design. This treadmill rated excellent for these features.

4. Quality is based on construction, sample defects, and durability tests. This treadmill rated excellentfor these features.

5. Exercise range is how well each treadmill provides an effective workout to users of various fitness levels, from beginners to very fit individuals. This treadmill rated excellent for these features.

Is the Schwinn Airdyne Evolution Comp Exercise Bike Better?

!±8± Is the Schwinn Airdyne Evolution Comp Exercise Bike Better?

The Schwinn Airdyne Evolution Comp Exercise Bike is the update of the classic dual action exercise bike. Anything can be improved, and the standard model Airdyne is no exception. To show they have good sense, the Schwinn people didn't try to replace the original Airdyne. They just introduced this model as an added model. Good move. Here's how the Evo Comp does it better...

It's the breeze... and the noise... See, the Airdyne models use the resistance from turning a fan to create the load you work against. Turning fans make wind and noise. In this case, lots of wind and lots of noise.

What the Evo has is a different fan and a different drive system. That fan is smaller and the drive is a belt not a chain. Plus, that makes for a physically smaller machine, easier to move and store.

What you get is a quieter bike with less wind noise and less drive noise too. That's a good deal. Plus you get less breeze on you too. Now a breeze is not all bad, but the old Airdyne can generate gale force winds. That's not good.

So, with the newer Schwinn Airdyne Evolution Comp Exercise Bike, you get the same type rugged design as the older model. But, you get that same performance with less noise and less wind blowing at you too. This is worth a look if you're in the market for a rugged exercise bike that will probably work for as long as you want to pedal an exercise bike.

DKN Pro Evolve Vibration Trainer Review

!±8± DKN Pro Evolve Vibration Trainer Review

The Pro Evolve machine has been around for a while, therefore is well tried and tested. It does everything is says 'on the tin'. It has an averaged-sized platform; a smooth running motor, very user-friendly functionality and it is in the medium/ lower price range.

As with most DKN vibration plates it has 4 different pre set programmes for working Upper body, Lower Body, Abdominal muscles or a Total Body workout. Each programme feature 16 different positions or exercises that will also be graphically displayed on the console which is a very interesting and useful feature especially for the not so highly experienced user.

The vibration frequency spans from 20Hz to 50 Hz and can be set in 5HZ increments. You can also manually control the length of time of your different workouts starting from 1min right up to 10 min with 30 sec rest intervals. The two main elements missing, hence the price, are really that you can not alter the vibration intensity from high to low and there is also no start/ stop button on the lower part of the column, making it slightly more awkward to prepare in position for seated exercises for example.

Conclusion:
There is very little reason for me not to recommend the DKN Pro Evolve to the general exerciser. Since I witness on a daily basis how different users can initially struggle with the right execution of any exercise on the Vibration Trainer I am a great fan of the pre set programmes that will also be displayed on the main screen.

I do think that this machine lends itself well to the home users who is looking to tone up, loose weight and add variety to his/her training programme. However the missing high/ low setting, the max Hz frequency being 50 Hz and the general feel of the running machine lead me to suggest that this model is not ideal for the semi -professional sportsperson.

2008 A Prova de Fogo (Fireproof) - Filme Completo | Full-HD | Multi-Lang

.:: SINOPSE ::.
